Plugged in and turned on. All paper. All the time.

Video: Papermaking en español / Action Verbs

When I started doing the papermaking en español series, I knew we would need a little action for all the action verbs in papermaking. This is my first go at filmmaking and the most surprising aspect to me is the ratio of footage you take to how much you actually use. That and how long the editing process takes.

Over the past two weeks I’ve been taking footage with my cell phone when I remember, trying to think less about what footage I would need and more about what story I was trying to tell. I know it’s a video about papermaking verbs in Spanish but it’s also a story about a craft process and the workplace culture of the mill. It’s upbeat and fun because that’s what most days are like and it’s fast and a little overwhelming because learning a new language is intense. Luckily, unlike the day-to-day, the video has a pause button.

Happy learning!

It’s great Genevieve – and the music is so fitting and fun!! I smiled all the way through it. I didn’t learn any Spanish – but maybe on a replay, I will concentrate on less enjoyment and more learning!! 😛 Mimi
