Early this year I was accepted into the artist collective at the Minnesota Center for Book Arts. March 1st came, I paid my dues and got excited to have 24/7 studio access, a place to store my supplies, and a book and paper community to be part of. We all know the next part: shut-down.
I was bummed and feeling sorry for myself. Finally I was going to make some paper and the opportunity was gone (well, only postponed, but like I said I was feeling sorry for myself). What happened next was the result of an ah-ha moment.
I looked at myself and said “Genevieve, you are a papermaker.” I looked around the house and thought “I have everything I need right here to make paper. Let’s do this!” Following is the story about my first day of shut-down paper making that I shared to my Instagram. I hope you enjoy!
Amazing!!

Bravo! I love your style! Work with what you’ve got, I say. What will you do next I wonder? I am dyeing paper with golden rod from the garden. It’s autumn in Australia. Marama~oxo

I am kind of in the same boat…but I ended up making paper in my driveway. I wish we were closer and we could make paper together at 6 feet apart. using my biz account… but this is Lauren Pearlman

Hi, Lauren! Sorry for the late reply! Making paper in your driveway sounds like fun and I 100% wish I could be six feet away pulling sheets right beside you! ❤
