Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What does the contribution fee cover?
A: The contribution fee covers USPS priority mail return shipment of papers to US participants at $10.75. International shipping will go USPS. Price will depend on. . . . So much! The remaining funds will bridge the expense of pay-what-you-can participants, materials for making the enclosures, and maybe buy your organizers a coffee. 😁
Q: Can I send paper bigger or smaller than the A4/B5/D4/US letter size?
A: Please keep your paper in the realm of these standard sizes.

Q: Why do I have to send in 12 if I’m only getting 10 back?
A: We create two full sets of papers every year. We keep one set to have a collection of all papers from over the years. This year your second extra paper will become part of the University of Iowa’s special collections in the Peter and Donna Thomas Fine Press Collection, thanks to papermaker and participant Peter Thomas. Check out more about him here and the collection here. The collection is searchable, so anyone curious about papermaking can find your paper and recipe. Fun fact: the University of Iowa is home to the Center for the Book, a program all about the art and history of books.
Q: Do all 12 sheets need to be the same?
A: Nope. Just make sure to send recipes or information about each one.
Q: I have an idea that might make this swap more inclusive, or I want to participate but have a resource barrier. Can I contact you about it?
A: We hope you will! Email Genevieve at genevieve.nordmark@gmail.com

This sounds like FUN. Count me in.
